Saturday, August 26th Paddleing Lake George

Maurine and I drove to Lake George to get in a practice paddle for the canoe race.  We were  surprised  at how beautiful it was. I think we were expecting a crowded shoreline and lots of motor boats.  Instead, it was very quiet, with only a few fisherpersons and boaters.  The weather was pleasant and the water calm.  We paddled along the northern shore for several miles.  There was lots of wild shoreline and along the western cliffs we watched a pair of rock climbers climbing up from a spot they had reached by canoe.
